Akelia K. Thomas, Master of Science (MS) in Marriage and Family Therapy, Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), provides psychotherapy to individuals dealing with various mental health disorders including anxiety, trauma, behavioral issues, family conflict, communication struggles, depression, self-harming behaviors and building self-esteem. She has expertise working in several mental health settings. Akelia has experience working with families and adolescents in residential treatment, in-patient psychiatric care, general outpatient therapy and facilitating psychoeducational groups. Akelia enjoys developing a strong therapeutic alliance with her clients, while providing a nonjudgmental environment for healing to occur.
