Emily Mullenax received her Masters in Social Work (MSW) from New York University and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Utah. She specializes in treating trauma, including domestic violence, sexual assault, combat stress and trauma, and childhood abuse. She has experience working with asylum-seekers, refugees, military, veterans, and first responders, and she has also worked with individuals who struggle with eating disorders as well as the LGBTQ community. Emily’s approach is strengths-based, where clients become attuned to their own needs, gain tools to meet those needs, and develop a greater sense of agency and empowerment in their lives. She strongly believes therapy can undo the sense of aloneness and can help clients navigate overwhelming emotions. Emily uses evidence-based practices like Lifespan Integration therapy (LI), Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Somatic Experiencing.
